OUR STORY
The Middle East and the Caribbean combine for an unbelievable feast at Little Jerusalem. Originally, Abraham is from Palestine, and his wife Cathy is from St Croix, U.S Virgin Islands. Abraham met Cathy in St Croix after he migrated to the island. They have been in Sint Maarten since 1989, where they first owned Sheik Supermarket on L.B Scott Road until they opened Little Jerusalem in 2012, bringing the flavors of the Middle East to the Friendly Island. After opening Little Jerusalem, they started down a new path of fusing two flavorful cuisines under one roof for food that is truly unlike any other.

In February 2025, their son Jamal—who had been working alongside his parents since 2017—officially took the reins of Little J Shawarma with his wife by his side. Jamal continues their legacy with the same great flavors, warm hospitality, and cultural fusion that made the restaurant a local favorite. Under his leadership, Little J Shawarma remains a vibrant celebration of Middle Eastern and Caribbean traditions, lovingly served with the same heart that started it all.
